About me in detail.

A qualified Corporate Banker ( Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers ) by profession with over 30 years of experience of helping Small & Medium Sized Business’. The last 15 years of my business life spent working in marketing and branding design across a whole range of business but specifically across the leisure and food sectors.

 

After a career with NatWest and then LloydsTSB almost all spent in managing loans to small business  in head office departments and major branches I decided to leave banking as I became frustrated with the banks lack of support for small business’ and that was as long ago as 1989!

 

I set up my own Business Consultancy practice and went through the 1990s helping many businesses from sole traders to multi-million pound turnover companies both through good times and bad. I have helped and worked with business owners across almost every trade sector and helped bring many projects to fruition. I worked with a major national accountancy practice as one of their approved company doctors and have financially engineered many management buy outs and assisted a lot of corporate acquisitions.

 

In early 2000 set up my own property development company and had some great times before the Banking Crisis hit in 2007 & 2008 and so I am well aware of how to make money and also what can go wrong and spiral out of all control, and how you can lose a lot of money.

 

Along the way I have helped many business owners to make their activities cash generative and I have guided them through the many steps required to acquire and protect assets for the future.

 

Over the years I have considered sales and marketing expertise to be the essential ingredient alongside strong financial management to the success of any venture.

 

I strongly believe that Sales / Finance / Control are the three key factors to success but none of these are possible without a strong product or service with a clear market place.

 

Many good businesses achieve only 60% of their potential the key is being able to see how to add the extra 40%. It’s often a lot simpler than people think and if they start looking in the right places a constantly struggling entity can easily move forward and become a cash generative focused business.
